  Hello to all parents who are entertaining the thought of sending their child to EJA. My child started school hear this year under much hesitation because of what I have heard about the school; that the kids are rude and foul mouthed was the main accusation. But, because I try my best to be a woman of God I thought that I would feel this school out and hope that my child wouldn't have a negative experience here.
  
  On the first day of school we all (children, parents & faculty) met in the gymnasium for a small briefing. The children got anointed w/ olive oil (which I thought to be unique but nice) and saw the new principal for the first time. My initial thought of Mrs. Jones was that she appeared to be nice and looked modestly dressed for a principal which to me was important to see.
  
  Well, as the week goes by I got to hear and see first hand what I was warned about; the kids being rude, fouled mouth & that some of the people at EJA are all about money. I don't want to sound like a spiteful or ungreatful, unappreciative parent but I expect the principal, out of all people to represent herself in a certain way.
  
  The school's dress code is strictly uniforms; slacks for the boys & skirts for the girls. I was hoping that the female teachers and principal would lead by example and wear dresses or skirts as well, not tight fitting jeans which I found to be appaling when I first saw it. Also, on Fridays the children are allowed to wear jeans if they pay $1. Really?!! When I called & asked about this absurd bribe I was told that the money helps goes towards text books, materials, etc. But, one like myself would automatically assume that the $400-something dollars we put towards the registration would help towards that. But then again, it's all about the money with EJA (and even the church unnfortunately); I would know because I used to be a member. Even still, aside from wanting $1 for jeans day, I think that the school should be strictly uniform. The jeans that they make for children these days (especially girls) are so immodest and innapropriate. I hate for my child to be exposed to that.
  
  It's sad and unfortunate that my child will no longer be going to this school next year and instead will be home schooled. If you don't care about a friendly demeanour from the principal (which I was hoping to see not just on the first day of school) in particular and want a decent education for your child then you should be ok sending your child here.
  
  If you don't mind your child's things coming up missing in class (like my child did) then you can shrug it off & replace it. I know that the teachers can't be the eyes and ears to everything that is going on all at once in the classroom, but when my child was going to a different school last year she didn't have the problem of things coming up missing from her desk.
